Our English-Speaking Community Continues to Grow

For many years, habs queer basel’s English speaking and expat gatherings have provided a welcoming space for connection, friendship, and community building. What started as a small initiative has grown into a successful and well-established format that brings together a diverse group of participants from Basel’s international LGBTQIA+ community.

Men+ English Speaking Group

The Men+ Expat Group meets every second Friday and has become a valued community space for gay, bisexual, trans, and other men-aligned queer people. Through regular social gatherings, the group has helped many newcomers and long-term residents build friendships, exchange experiences, and create a sense of belonging in Basel.

The Men+ Expat Group remains an important and vibrant part of habs queer basel’s activities and continues to welcome new participants.

All Queer English Speaking Group

NEXT MEETING Septemer 28th in Restaurant Hirscheneck - "Hirschi" 

As habs queer basel continues to grow and our community becomes increasingly diverse, we are excited to expand our English-speaking offerings.

Starting in September 2026, we launched our All Queer English Speaking Group, a space open to queer people of all gender identities, gender expressions, and sexual orientations.

Together, we are building a welcoming community where queer people can connect, share experiences, explore queer life in Basel, discover local activities and venues, and enjoy social events together. The group meets regularly and is shaped by its members, making it a welcoming space for both newcomers and long-time residents.

Whether you are new to Basel, new to Switzerland, or simply looking for connection within the English speaking LGBTQIA+ community, you are warmly invited to join us.
